Facility management

Managing land, storage, or living space within premises, and of acquiring, constructing, fitting-out, managing, maintaining, protecting, transferring, and disposing of land and buildings. Also includes waste and pollutant removal and cleaning of schools.

Procedures

• FCM-PR-001: Asset Maintenance

  Identifies responsibilities regarding Asset Maintenance Program and special maintenance programs approved in state schools. Responds to government Maintenance Management Framework which applies to maintenance of Queensland Government buildings. All state schools and other Education Queensland sites and students, staff and members of these school communities are affected.

• FCM-PR-002: Assessment, Closure or Mothballing of Unviable State Schools

  After community consultation, the Department of Education, Training and the Arts manages the closure and disposal of educationally and/or economically unviable state schools.

• FCM-PR-004: School Swimming Pools - operation and management

  Identifies responsibilities and strategies regarding operational management of State school pools. Includes workplace health and safety measures to ensure that a healthy pool environment is provided. Applies to all state schools and other Education Queensland sites and students, staff and members of these school communities.
