Legislation

CRICOS registration in Queensland is governed by both State and Commonwealth legislation. A provider must meet the requires of both legislation in order to become registered and maintain registration.

Education (Overseas Students) Act 1996
This Queensland legislation describes the rationale and necessity for registration in Queensland.

Education (Overseas Students) Regulation 1998
The regulation pertains to the E(OS) Act and prescribes criteria for approval to be registered in Queensland as well as the basis for suspension or cancellation of registration.

Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000
This Commonwealth legislation describes State and Commonwealth responsibilities for administering CRICOS registration and obligations of registered providers.

National Code of Practice for Registration Authorities and Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students (The National Code)
Outlines day to day requirements for both State Authorities and for registered providers.
