The 2008 Smart Classrooms Teacher Award winners were announced on Monday, 18 August during a gala presentation at the Brisbane Powerhouse.
What is it?
The Smart Classrooms Teacher Awards recognise and reward state school teachers who excel in making ICT integral to learning.
Each award-winning teacher will receive $5,000 in prize money for use towards attending conferences or courses that extend their understanding in applying ICT in education, undertaking research projects or research studies.
Main objective
The main objective of the Smart Classrooms Teacher Awards is to help make ICT integral to learning by ensuring state school teachers have the opportunity to be recognised for their innovative ICT practice.

Winners of the 2008 Smart Classrooms Teacher Awards
Congratulations to this year's award winners. The following teachers were selected for their innovative ICT teaching practices.
Each is sharing $60,000 in professional development sponsored by Adobe, Blackboard, Cisco, Citec, Computer Corp, Data 3, Direct National, IBM, Microsoft, Oakton, Videopro and WebCentral.
