Conferencing tools

Your choice of conferencing tool depends on what you wish to achieve, the type of equipment you have access to and the type of connection (bandwidth) that is available. Select any of the links below to find out more about each type of tool.

Voice conferencing

Voice conferencingUses telephone lines. Useful when you only need to talk to a group of people separated by distance.


Video conferencing

Video conferencingShares a video signal to a group of people separated by distance. Useful when you wish to both see and hear people. (Can be both point-to-point and multipoint connections).

 

Data conferencing

Data conferencingUses the computer network. Useful if you need to show people what you are doing on the screen or if you need to share files with one or more people separated by distance. (usually done in conjunction with a voice conference).
