Graduate Employment Rating pilot

Graduate Teacher Employment Rating

Education Queensland is piloting a new process for rating graduate teachers for potential employment in Queensland state schools.

There is no change to the suitability rating process for 2007 graduating students.

From 2008 professional experience results and course grade point averages will be a significant part of the rating process.

A transition process will be used with 2008 and 2009 graduates.

More information on the transition process from the current system to the new system will be available in 2007.

Why are we changing the current suitability (S) rating process?

  1. To update the system to better reflect teacher professionalism through the Professional Standards for Teachers.
  2. To establish more consistency in the process across the system.
  3. To better identify the best and brightest applicants for Education Queensland schools.
