Growing the Smart State PhD Funding Program

What is the PhD Research Funding Program?
This program is managed by Policy Research in the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. The program was developed in consultation with the tertiary sector and Queensland Government agencies to foster evidence-based public policy development. It provides grant funding to selected Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) and Doctorate students whose research is relevant to the Queensland Government's policy priorities, and links each student with the appropriate Government agency for mentoring and support. Grants of up to $15 000 over three years are available to support the research of entire PhD theses or only a small part of the research within it (e.g. for literature reviews and surveys).
